Aam Aadmi Party leader Kumar Vishwas on Saturday confirmed reports that he had been approached by a newly-elected Bharatiya Janata Party member of Parliament to join the saffron party soon after the general election results were declared. Vishwas told ANI, "I got a call from a newspaper yesterday; they wanted to confirm about this proposal for me from the BJP. I thought I should not lie, and if I have been contacted them, I must divulge that news."
The President is bound by the recommendation of the Commission.
On joining the party, Kumar said, "I am joining Congress because it's not just a party, it's an idea. It's a country's oldest and most democratic party, and I am emphasising on 'democratic'...Not just me many think that country can't survive without the Congress..."
